Who this is
Steady Pours is the name my business, Richey Consulting, works under. I'm John Richey, and I run it from Colorado Springs, Colorado. This policy covers richeyconsulting.com and what you send me through it. “I” and “me” mean John Richey and Richey Consulting.
What you give me
- The forms. “Book a call” asks for your name, your company, the city you work in and your phone number.
- Calls, texts and emails. If you call, text or email me, I have your number or address and whatever you tell me.
What the site records on its own
- With each form: the date and time, which page's form it was, and the IP address it came from. They arrive in the same email as your answers and help me tell a real request from spam.
- A log of sent forms. The website keeps one line for each form it emails to me: the date and the subject line, which has your name and your city in it. Your phone number and the rest of what you wrote are not in that log.
- Server logs. DreamHost hosts this site, and Cloudflare sits in front of it to keep it fast and block attacks. Like every web server, theirs log each request: the IP address, the browser, the page asked for and the time. I can see totals from those logs, such as how many visits the site had.
- The spam check. The forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile. It reads technical details from your browser, such as your IP address and browser type, to tell a person from a bot. Cloudflare says it uses them only to detect and block bots, not to identify or profile anyone.
What is not here: no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel and no session recording. I have not given any other company a way to follow you from this site to other websites.
Cookies and Do Not Track
This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. Cloudflare may set a cookie that is strictly needed for its security checks.
Because the site does not track you from one website to another, it has nothing to switch off when your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. You get the same site either way.
How I use it
- To reply to you by phone call, text message or email, and to follow up on what you asked about.
- If we work together, to do the work and to bill you for it.
- To keep spam and abuse off the site.
I do not use it for anything else without asking you first.
Calls and texts
When you send me your phone number, you are asking me to get back to you, so I will call or text that number about your request.
- How often: message frequency varies with the conversation.
- Cost: I do not charge for texts. Your carrier's message and data rates may apply.
- To stop: reply STOP to any text, or tell me by phone or email, and I will stop. For help, reply HELP or call (209) 769-8127.
- Not required: you do not have to agree to texts to work with me.
I do not sell or share mobile phone numbers, or anyone's agreement to receive texts, with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Who else handles it
I do not sell or rent your information, and I do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. A few companies handle it for me so that the site, my email and my phone work:
- DreamHost hosts the website.
- Cloudflare delivers it and blocks spam and attacks.
- Google runs my email, which is how a form reaches me.
- The phone, texting and record-keeping services I use to stay in touch with you.
Each of them handles it under its own terms and privacy policy. Two other cases: if the law or a court order requires it, I will hand over what is asked for. And if I ever sell the business, what I hold would pass to the new owner.
How long I keep it
Your form reaches me as an email. I keep it, along with my notes from our conversations, for as long as it is useful for replying to you or for my business records. The website's log of sent forms is kept until I clear it. Ask me to delete what I have about you and I will, unless the law requires me to keep a record, such as an invoice.
Your choices
You can ask me at any time:
- what I have about you,
- to correct it,
- to delete it,
- to stop calling, texting or emailing you.
Email john@steadypours.com, or call or text (209) 769-8127. I answer these myself. Some states give their residents these rights by law. I give them to everyone, wherever you live.
Security
The site runs over an encrypted connection (https), and I collect as little as I can so there is less to protect. No website or inbox is perfectly secure, and I cannot promise that mine are.
Children
This site is for people who own or run a concrete company. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and I do not knowingly collect information from children.
Other websites
This site links to other websites. Once you follow a link, that site's privacy policy applies, not this one.
Changes to this policy
If I change this policy, I will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top.
